The mission of the GTFWC is friendship, scholarship, and service. We hope that you will enjoy discovering the programs, community service projects and interest groups we offer. Membership is open to all who want to join us in supporting the Georgia Tech community.
In addition to the scheduled events listed in the directory, we will announce fun pop-up events on our Facebook page. There is so much to do in Atlanta, and it’s always more fun with friends. Please consider making a donation to our scholarship fund. Last year your contributions allowed us to award five scholarships totaling $10,000 to students who have a parent employed at a Georgia Tech. This year we hope to increase the amount of scholarships we award.

Please join us at 5Church for this Open House Luncheon, which is our inaugural event of the year. Catch up with old friends and make new ones, enjoy lunch with a view, sip a glass of bubbly, and learn about this year’s events, community service projects, and interest groups.
Attention Craftsy Members: Enter our Decoration Contest!
This Open House, we’re hosting a contest to MAKE a GT-Themed centerpiece or sign to be judged on Originality, Use of the GTFWC Logo, Buzz and Theme of “Smiles and Service.” The centerpieces and signs will be displayed through the luncheon and judged by Board members. Three winners will receive either a bottle of wine or a $25 gift certificate to 5Church.
So get out those glue guns, glitter and other art supplies and bring a small table decoration or wall decoration!
Please join us in making dog toys for Canine Cellmates to sell at their events to raise money for operations. Canine Cellmates pairs homeless dogs with prison inmates to rehabilitate both. We’ll go to lunch together afterwards.

Don’t miss this spectacular exhibit of acclaimed fashion designer Guo Pei, the first Chinese national designer
invited to join the prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. This landmark exhibition presents more than 30 of her grandest, most dramatic gowns from the past decade. Guo Pei’s creations combine contemporary high fashion with ancient tradition.

This party is one of the highlights of the year – with camaraderie, holiday music, cocktails and
delicious refreshments. Don’t forget to wear your most festive attire! Both members and spouses are welcome!
We will be collecting diapers, baby wipes, and full size personal hygiene products (shampoo, deodorant, soap, body wash, and feminine care products) for OUR HOUSE, a shelter for homeless women and children (www.ourhousega.org).
Please join us in assisting this non-profit group that advocates to the hungry and ensures all needy people in our community have food. We will be sorting food in their warehouse, so please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable, casual clothes.

Come join fellow members for a fun time with family and friends as we watch GT Women’s Basketball players take on Virginia! Tip off begins at 1:00 pm. Tickets will be $3 (for groups of 10 or more) and children 18 and under are free (please list names and ages)! GTFWC will have a section reserved for us, right by the cheerleaders and close to the bench, so return the reservation form with check made out to GTFWC by Thursday, January 25 to Marylou Foley, 1588 Friar Tuck Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.

Nicholas House is the only shelter in Atlanta that provides housing to homeless families regardless of family makeup. Another favorite from last year! Paws Atlanta is a no-kill rescue shelter for dogs and cats. We’ll clean up around the shelter and walk dogs. We’ll go to lunch afterwards.
