Community Service Activities

Serving the Georgia Tech community as well as the Atlanta community at large remains an important part of GTFWC’s mission.  Members have the opportunity to serve in several projects, spread throughout the year, and give back to our neighbors.  Everyone is welcome to connect with club members and make a difference!

Our Community Ser-vice Chair, Danielle Hanson, has organized the following projects for this year 2017-18:

September 29th – CANINE CELLMATES PROJECT – Make dog toys for a fundraiser
October 13th – TREES ATLANTA – Help set up for annual tree sale and festival
October 25th – GEORGIA CENTER FOR CHILD ADVOCACY- Child abuse prevention training
November 10th – NEW AMERICAN PATHWAYS – Help set up an apartment for new immigrants
December 13th – GENESIS SHELTER – Collect donations at the GTFWC Holiday Party
for “Our House”, a shelter for homeless women and children.
January 12th – FOOD BANK – Sorting/packing boxes in their warehouse
January 26th – BOOKS FOR AFRICA – Sorting children’s books to send to Africa
February 23rd – NICHOLAS HOUSE – Sorting/organizing donations for homeless families shelter
March 23rd – PAWS Atlanta (in Decatur) – help feed, walk and groom the animals, and help clean the facility.
