Community Service Activities

Serving the Georgia Tech community as well as the Atlanta community at large remains an important part of GTFWC’s mission.  Members have the opportunity to serve in several projects, spread throughout the year, and give back to our neighbors.  Everyone is welcome to connect with club members and make a difference!

Our Community Service Chair, Danielle Hanson, has organized the following projects for this year 2018-2019:

September 14th –PROJECT U FIRST – Assembling hygiene kits for the homeless.

October 12th – TREES ATLANTA – Help set up for annual tree sale and festival
October 26th – BOOKS FOR AFRICA – Sorting children’s books to send to Africa
November16th – PARK PRIDE – work outside to improve park

December 12th – GENESIS SHELTER – Collect donations at the GTFWC Holiday Party
for “Our House”, a shelter for homeless women and children.

January 11th – ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANK – Sorting/packing boxes in their warehouse

January25th – ATLANTA CHILDREN’S SHELTER

February 27th  – GEORGIA CENTER FOR CHILD ADVOCACY- Child abuse prevention training

March 9th -  HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – work to build a home

March 22nd – PAWS Atlanta (in Decatur) – help feed, walk and groom the animals, and help clean the facility.
